Our Team

Aef our team

Saefudin “Aef”

Saefudin, or “Aef” as he’s affectionately known, has been with Rinjani Dawn Adventures since we started. Having had to drop-out of university due to illness, he found his home with Rinjani Dawn Adventures, where he has been ever since. Gratefully Aef recovered his health, and has been the backbone to Rinjani Dawn’s day-to-day operations ever since. He is responsible for customer communications, transport and logistics, food and equipment. As well as finding a job with Rinjani Dawn, Aef has also found a family! In 2015 Aef married one of our other team members, RDA cook and office manager, Nur. They have since had a lovely baby boy called Adrian.

Nur our team

Nur

Nur has also been with Rinjani Dawn since the beginning. Coming from one of the oldest families in Senaru, Nur is a true Sasak! She is also an incredible cook, providing delicious Indonesian food for our RDA guests and restaurant customers. Nur divides her time between managing the kitchen, office and caring for the newest addition to the RDA family ‘Adrian’ who is Aef and Nur’s four-year-old son.

Lasa our team

Lasa

Lasa is Rinjani Dawn Adventures head guide. With 20 years’ experience guiding on the mountain, Lasa has climbed Mount Rinjani more times than he can remember! Growing up in Senaru Traditional Village, Lasa can answer most questions about local culture and Sasak life. In his spare time Lasa enjoys tending to his garden in the jungle, where he grows coffee, vanilla, cacao, bananas and bamboo.

Hamdan our team

Hamdan

Hamdan has been helping Rinjani Dawn with various odd-jobs for many years now. Although he speaks only a little English, we are training Hamdan to work in our restaurant, which he is enjoying immensely! One of the most generous and kind humans you’ll meet, Hamdan can turn his hand to almost anything!

Adi 2

Adi

Adi, brother of Lasa has been guiding in Gunung Rinjani National Park for close to 20 years. Also growing up in Senaru Traditional Village, he has a wealth of local Sasak knowledge. He’s a very kind, funny and patient guide. When he’s not guiding Adi tends to his rice field, jungle garden and cows.

Josi our team

Josi

Coming from the other side of Mount Rinjani, from a remote village near Sembalun, Josi guided Rinjani Dawn’s first ever trek! Josi has a great work-ethic and an even better sense of humour! An excellent guide and travelling companion. Josi will ensure you have a light-hearted and fun trekking experience.
