Saefudin, affectionately known as “Aef,” has been an integral part of Rinjani Dawn Adventures since its inception. After a period of illness forced him to leave university, Aef found his place and purpose with Rinjani Dawn Adventures, where he has thrived ever since.

Fully recovered and in excellent health, Aef has become the backbone of our day-to-day operations. His responsibilities span customer communications, transport and logistics, food preparation, and equipment management. Aef’s dedication and attention to detail ensure that every trek runs smoothly and that our guests have an unforgettable experience.

Rinjani Dawn Adventures hasn’t just been a career for Aef—it’s been a life-changing journey. In 2015, Aef married Nur, one of our talented cooks and office managers. Together, they’ve built a beautiful family and welcomed their son, Adrian.

Aef’s warm personality, commitment to excellence, and love for his work make him an invaluable part of the Rinjani Dawn Adventures family.

Nur has been with Rinjani Dawn Adventures since its very beginning, making her a true cornerstone of the team. Coming from one of the oldest families in Senaru, she proudly represents the Sasak culture and heritage, which shines through in everything she does.

An exceptional cook, Nur is renowned for preparing delicious, authentic Indonesian meals that delight both our trekkers and visitors to Cafe Rinjani Dawn. Whether it’s a hearty meal on Mount Rinjani or a refreshing dish served at the cafe, Nur’s culinary talents leave a lasting impression.

In addition to her role as a chef, Nur manages Cafe Rinjani Dawn with grace and efficiency. She also plays a vital role in organizing the Sasak Warriors food-aid program, helping to deliver much-needed support to the local community every week.

Nur juggles these responsibilities while raising her son, Adrian, alongside her husband, Aef, Rinjani Dawn Adventures’ manager. Together, they are an inspiring duo, dedicated not only to their family but also to the success of Rinjani Dawn and the well-being of their community.

Rizal joined the Rinjani Dawn Adventures team in 2024, fresh out of school and ready to start his journey with us. As the son of one of our trusted drivers, Rizal grew up immersed in the stories and adventures surrounding Mount Rinjani, making him a natural fit for our team.

Mentored by Aef, Rizal is quickly learning the ropes and becoming an integral part of our operations. Based at the office and souvenir shop at Cafe Rinjani Dawn, Rizal is the friendly face you’ll meet when handling inquiries or browsing our shop. Whether you have a question about a tour or need assistance with your plans, Rizal is your first port of call.

Young and eager, Rizal is dedicated to his role and shows great promise. We’re excited to see him grow with Rinjani Dawn Adventures, gaining valuable skills and insights from the experienced team around him. His enthusiasm and commitment make him a welcome addition to the Rinjani Dawn family.

Han, a cheerful and experienced senior guide at Rinjani Dawn Adventures, joined our family in 2022. Originally from a village near Sembalun, nestled at the foot of Mount Rinjani, Han has a deep connection to the mountain and its surrounding landscapes.

With over a decade of guiding experience, Han brings a wealth of knowledge to every trek. Whether it’s navigating the trails, sharing insights about Mount Rinjani’s geology and environment, or discussing the unique culture of Lombok, Han is always ready to engage and enrich the trekking experience.

Known for his ever-present smile and warm personality, Han quickly puts trekkers at ease, creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere on every adventure. His ability to connect with guests and share his passion for the mountain makes him a favorite among our team and customers alike.

Lasa is the heart and soul of Rinjani Dawn Adventures, leading our treks as Head Guide with over 20 years of experience on Mount Rinjani. A true expert, Lasa has summited the mountain countless times, and his unparalleled knowledge of the trails, terrain, and challenges makes him a trusted leader for all our trekking adventures.

Growing up in Senaru Traditional Village, Lasa is deeply connected to Sasak culture and heritage. His rich understanding of local traditions and history makes him an invaluable resource for trekkers curious about the culture and life in Lombok. Always ready to share a story or answer a question, Lasa adds depth and meaning to every journey.

When he’s not guiding on the mountain, Lasa enjoys the tranquility of his jungle garden, where he cultivates coffee, vanilla, cacao, bananas, and bamboo. Affectionately known as “The General,” Sudirman is one of the rising stars at Rinjani Dawn Adventures. Despite being in his early twenties, Sudirman already has over five years of experience guiding on Mount Rinjani. His maturity and professionalism go far beyond his years, making him a trusted and reliable companion for every trek.

As the younger brother of Nur, our restaurant manager and community leader, Sudirman carries forward the same dedication to hospitality and care that runs in the family. His polite and reserved manner, coupled with a broad and genuine smile, instantly puts trekkers at ease and makes him a favorite among our guests.
