Embark on the 3 Day / 2 Night Mount Rinjani Torean Trek: A Journey Through Lombok’s Hidden Valleys and Stunning Peaks

Embark on a thrilling 3 Day / 2 Night adventure through Mount Rinjani’s most breathtaking landscapes, designed for advanced trekkers seeking to conquer Lombok’s iconic volcano. The Torean Trek offers a unique and challenging route, combining steep ascents, dramatic descents, and awe-inspiring vistas, making it ideal for those looking to experience the raw beauty of Gunung Rinjani National Park.

Your journey begins in Sembalun Village at 1,060 meters above sea level. On Day 1, you’ll trek approximately 10km, ascending 1,560m through rolling savannahs and open landscapes to reach the Sembalun Crater Rim at 2,639m. Here, you’ll camp for the night, enjoying a hearty meal under the stars while soaking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding terrain.

Day 2 is the most challenging and rewarding part of the trek, covering about 17km with a 1,750m ascent to the summit of Mount Rinjani, followed by a descent of over 2,500m. Witness the spectacular sunrise from the summit before descending into the crater to Segara Anak Lake. Relax by the serene waters, soak in the rejuvenating thermal springs, and enjoy a lakeside lunch before tackling the 6km descent via the Torean route. A Rewarding Trek for Experienced Trekkers

As an experienced trekker who has climbed in the Alps and Pyrenees, I found the 3-Day / 2-Night Mount Rinjani Torean Trek arduous but not technically difficult. The steep sections along the Torean route, especially in the rainy season, can be slippery and exposed—definitely not a trail I’d recommend to beginners or those with a fear of heights. What really stood out was the exceptional service from Rinjani Dawn Adventures. The porters prepared delicious, nourishing meals that were a welcome treat after long days on the trail, and the guides were incredibly supportive, eco-conscious, and knowledgeable about the area. I was also impressed by the company’s commitment to the local community through their Sasak Warriors program—it's great to know my trek was contributing to something meaningful. If you’re an experienced adventurer looking for a challenge and breathtaking views, this trek is an unforgettable experience!
