Covering a distance of approximately 9km, the trail offers a steady, prolonged ascent with plenty of rest stops along the way. By the time you reach the Senaru Crater Rim campsite, perched at 2,641m elevation, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Segara Anak Lake, the towering Rinjani summit, and the sweeping valleys below. After settling in, enjoy a hearty dinner prepared by your porters under a star-filled sky before retiring to your tent for a well-earned rest.

Approximate Timeline:

  • 07:30 AM – Pre-trek breakfast and briefing at Cafe Rinjani Dawn, Senaru. Leave excess luggage in secure storage.
  • 08:30 AM – Begin the trek from Senaru Village (600m above sea level). The trail winds through lush tropical rainforest, with towering trees and diverse flora and fauna.
  • 10:30 AM – Arrive at Pos 1 “Pemantuan” (950m elevation). Re-hydration and snack break.
  • 12:30 PM – Reach Pos 2 “Montong Satas” (1,500m elevation). Stop for lunch and a longer rest.
  • 01:30 PM – Resume trekking, ascending to Pos 3 “Mondokan Lokak” (2,000m elevation).
  • 03:30 PM – Arrive at Senaru Crater Rim campsite (2,641m elevation). Your guide and porters will set up camp, while you relax and enjoy the spectacular views of Segara Anak Lake and the surrounding valleys.
  • 05:30 PM – Dinner served under the stars. Take time to enjoy the incredible stargazing opportunities before settling into your tent for the night.
